I'm not positive, but I think (on my GA-890GPA-UD3H at least) that TMPIN1 is the socket temperature, which appears to be more accurate.
Hwmonitor is pretty simple and generally has all you need for overclocking. HwINFO64 just goes hardcore and shows every temperature and voltage sensor on every component in your system, lol.

You could test with HWinfo64, see what it says. Also, I'm wondering if motherboard chipset drivers have a role to play in sensor readings.

I don't think it's even possible for a 2600x to do 5ghz let alone 5.6. Have you tried CPU-z or hwinfo64? I've had a lot of issues with hwmonitor with my ryzen setup. Lots of shit doesn't report correctly in hwmonitor. Nov 14, 2018 · Hwmonitor isn't the best for checking cpu speeds, you'll see more precise clocks under hwinfo. Those clocks are the expected for a 2700X. The small extra above 4.3Ghz is set by XFR2 according to (good) thermals and available tdp; non X CPUs don't do that above the regular PBO2 range.
